<읽기> wonder 원더 원서 Day 29

OUR TOWN

We're doing the play our town for the spring show this year.
Olivia dares me to try out for the lead role, the stage manager, and somehow i get it. total fluke. 
never got any lead roles in anything before. I tell olivia she brings me good luck. 
unfortunately, she doesn't get the female lead, emily gibbs. the pink-haired girl named miranda gets it. 
Olivia gets a bit part and is also the emily understudy. i'm actually more disappointed than olivia is.
She almost seems relieved. 

 

우리는 올해 봄 우리 마을 연극을 하게 되었다.

올리비아는 나에게 이상한 매니저 주인공역을 해보라고 했고 어떻게 된 건지 내가 됐다. 정말 이상했다.

지금껏 어떤 역할도 맡지 못해서 나는 말했다. 올리비아가 나에게 행운을 가져다 준거라고.

불행하게도, 그녀는 여자 주인공 emily gibbs을 맡지 못했다. 분홍머리인 미란다가 맡게 되었다.

올리비아는 에밀리의 대역을 맡게되었고, 내가 올리비아보다 더 실망했다.

그녀는 안심한것 처럼 보였다.

 

Ladybug

It's a warm march evening, almost like summer. 
the sky is still bright cyan but the sun is low and the sidewalks are streaked with long shadows. 

 

3월의 저녁은 따뜻해서 거의 여름 같았다.

하늘은 여전히 눈부신 청록빛이었지만 해가 낮아지고 있었고 인도에는 긴 그림자가 드리워졌다.

 

The Bus Stop

We wave bye when he gets on the bus, and I watch it pull away.

 

우리는 그가 갈때 손을 흔들며 인사를 했고 나는 떠나가는 것을 지켜보았다.

 

 

 

Good. I nod mysteriously, then sprint down the subway two steps at a time.

 

좋아, 나는 이상하게도 고개를 끄덕였고 한 번에 두 칸씩 지하철을 내려갔다.
