The Fifth-Grade Nature Retreat 

Most kids have had sleepovers by the time they're my age. 
A lot of kids have gone to sleepaway camps, or stayed with their grandparents or whatever. 
Not me. Not unless you include hospital stays but even then Mom or Dad always stayed with me overnight.

 

대부분 내 또래 아이들은 밤새서 파티를 해본적이 있다.

많은 아이들이 1박캠프나 그들의 할머니할아버지댁에 묵거나 아니면 다른 곳에서 외박을 한다.

그런데 나는 아니다. 나는 병원에서 지낸 걸 포함해도 그때도 엄마와 아빠가 내 곁에 밤새 있었다.

 

 

Known For

That's not exactly true: I do know what I'm really known for. 
But there's nothing I can do about that. A Star Wars duffel bag I could do something about. 

 

이건 정확하게는 사실이 아니다 내가 정말 무엇으로 알려지고 싶은 것이 알고 있다.

그러나 나는 그것을 할 수가 없다. 스타워즈 가방은 좀 할 수 있을 것 같다.

 

 

 

Packing

When she left my room, 
I took my copy of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe off the night table and started reading until I fell asleep. 

 

그녀가 내방에서 떠나고,

나는 침대테이블에 있던 사자, 마녀 그리고 옷장 사본을 읽기 시작했고 곧 잠들었다.

 

 

. . . though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. 
Her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. 
But if she could have looked a little further back into the stillness and the darkness before Time dawned, 
she would have read there a different incantation.

마녀는 깊은 마법을 알고 있었지만, 그녀가 모르는 더 깊은 마법이 있었다.
그녀 오직 새벽 시간만 거슬러 가는 걸 알고 있었다.
그러나 그녀가 새벽이 오기전 고요하고

어둠 안에서 조금 더 뒤를 보았다면 그녀는 다른 주문을 외울 수 있었을 것이다.
