The Woods Are Alive

Amos shook his head at us like Don't pay attention to them. 

 

아모스는 고개를 저었다. 우리에게 쟤네 신경 쓰지 마라고 하는 것처럼

 

 

Alien

I knew that was a lie, but I helped Jack get up and we started walking over to Amos.
Then out of the blue the Eddie guy grabbed my hood as I passed by him yanking it
really hard so I was pulled backward and fell flat on my back. It was a hard fall
and I hurt my elbow pretty bad on a rock. I couldn't really see what happened afterward,
except that Amos rammed into the Eddie guy like a monster truck and they both fell
down to the ground next to me. 

 

그것이 거짓말인지 알았지만 나는 일어나게 도왔고 우리는 아모스 쪽으로 걸어갔다.

에디가 내 모자를 정말 세게 잡아당겨 납작 엎드려졌다. 나는 넘어지면서 팔꿈치를 바위에 심하게 부딪혔다.

그 후에 어떤 일이 일어 났는지 알 수 없었다. 아모스가 에디를 괴물 트럭처럼 밀어버려서 넘어뜨렸다.

내 바로 옆 땅으로

 

Voices in the Dark

"You're one brave little dude you know that?" said Amos, putting his arm around my shoulders.
And when I kept on crying he put both his arms around me like my dad would have done and let me cry.

 

"너 그거 알아? 너 엄청 용감해 짜식" 아모스가 말했다. 그의 팔로 내 어깨를 감싸 안았다.

그때 나는 계속 울었고 마치 우리 아빠 하듯이 날 감싸주고 울게 해 주었다. 

 

 

7학년들과 몸싸움하고 도망치다가 보청기를 잃어버린 어거스트

엉엉 울어버리는데요. 엄마가 물에 빠지면 아빠가 다시 사야 한다고 하니 조심하라고 했는데 잃어버렸네요.

찾을 수 있을까요?

 

 

 

The Emperor's Guard

I did notice as I walked that Amos had stayed right next to me. 
And Jack was close on the other side of me. And Miles was in front of us and Henry was in back of us. 
They were surrounding me as we walked through the crowds of kids. 
Like I had my own emperor's guard. 

 

나는 걷다 보니 아모스가 내 오른쪽 곁을 지켜주는 걸 알아차렸다.

그리고 잭은 그 반대편을 지켜줬다. 마일스는 우리 앞을, 헨리는 우리 뒤를

우리 무리는 나를 에워싸고 보좌해주며 걸어갔다.

마치 황제인 나를 경호하는 근위병처럼

 

 

Sleep

Eddie looked at me as he talked to me like he hated me.
Like a lamb to the slaughter. 
I remember Dad saying that ages ago but tonight I think I finally got what it meant.

 

에디 내가 그를 미워하는 것처럼 날보고 이야기했다.

도살장에 끌려가는 양 같았다.

내 기억에 아빠가 이렇게 이야기한 적이 있었는데 오늘 밤 나는 어떤 의미인지 정확하게 알게 되었다.
